When people start to learn about fungi, the first thing that usually amazes them is just how cooperative fungi can be in their environment. We are happy to report that the fungi community is very similar, and equally comes together to champion nature and support the eco-systems on which we all rely.
The Hidden Heroes Campaign was founded by Emma Howcroft in 2025, but has been made possible by the community of people who have given their support, skills and time to launch and further the mission of the campaign.

Campaign launch
We are hugely grateful to our community of contributors which helped us launch the campaign in October 2025. Thanks to them we were able to run 4 events and 7 activities. ​
